Gas Guru: Cheap Gas Prices App Reviews

Gas prices vary considerably from location to location even within a small urban area. For obvious reasons, gas stations on roads less travelled charge less—as much as 50¢ a gallon less. My car takes something north of 15 gallons to fill up. That’s $7.50 in my pocket. Worth a little trouble. Gas Guru finds the cheapest station near me. It’s usually not far. It doesn’t always have the price exactly right, but it’s close enough. Its interface is well thought out. The fact that it makes the marketplace more efficient (as an economist would put it) is a pleasing thought.

I would give it 4-1/2 stars b/c a few times it didnt report the correct price for a location. For the most part, it is reliable. ive been using it for over a year now.

Almost perfect! I can easily use it while driving because it knows my location and has a "best nearby" option. I would give it five stars if I could update prices when I was at a station. Sometimes prices have not been updated in four days, but usually the prices are very accurate. It also does not list every gas station, especially the small independent ones. It would be cool if we could add a gas station!

I was so excited to finally take advantage of a mega low price for gas because I happened to be in the area where GG said this station was located. The price was significantly lower than its competitors. Unfortunately, it was about 15 minutes out of my way, but it was worth it. When I arrived at the station, not only was GG off, It was off by 40¢ per gallon for the premium gas (what I use)! Since I was already so far off my course, I bought it anyway. This will be the last time I will use GG though. This isnt the first time something like this has happened. Oh well.

They must be on strike It started out good but has crapped out and cant find any location but San Francisco

Overall very nice app and easy enough to use. The only thing I wish it had is something like " favorite list" so I can save and compare my own set of gas stations.

Without a doubt got GasGuru is the simplest and most hopeful. It would be even better if it could include Arco gas prices and ALL competitors!! -- take the hint! Skip the legal BS, you will be loved even more! (Maybe there are restrictions in SoCal where I am from... but I urge you to change and include everyone.)

This apps interface is beautiful and minimalist. Its so easy to use! Its primary weakness is in the quality of pricing data. Data are often inaccurate.
