Im glad I found this app. It works perfectly helping me find the best price on gasoline. I was using Gas Buddy, but after the update, it was unbearable!
In general I like this app, usually its accurate. However not always. I cant figure out how to correct the prices if I see discrepancies. In GasBuddy I have an option to make corrections. Where do the prices come from in this app?
Very useful app! Does exactly what I need it to do. I have used similar apps that dont even show all gas stations that are in an area but this one does!
With this app you dont have to register and and the app does not always want to know your location even when youre not using the app which will kill your battery
Some bad moments
1. Station names very confusing. A lot are not what is posted and you have to guess which station is which.
2. Prices look to be copied from Gas Buddy. I checked and most times listed are very similar to when prices were posted on GB.
3. When looking at list view of prices, cities are not listed. This is confusing when looking in town.
4. No option for cash/credit price differential.
I redownloaded this out of disgust at Gas Buddys horrible upgrade, but find the exact same problems which made me originally delete this waste of time app. I have left the rest of my review the same since this app has the same problems which caused me to originally delete it. Gas Buddy wins by default.
Im not a big cash person. I carry only my credit card all the time. Some has stations have low prices for cash and higher prices for credit card purchases. If this app can have an additional filter for card vs cash, thatll be more helpful. Otherwise I see a good rate, go all the way just to find out that is cash price and I dont have cash.
Once upon a time this app was great but now none of the gas prices seem to be accurate anymore.
Not once when I have looked at the app has there been an even remotely accurate gas price.
I left gas buddy because of their terrible "upgrade". The problem with gas guru is the prices are frequently incorrect and there is no way for the user to update the information. With the volatility of gas prices, it is vitally important for the user to be able to update information and keep it current. Otherwise, this is a useless app. Im still looking for a good app for gas prices.
I used gas guru to find the cheapest gas near Paso Robles. The app posted a gas price of $2.71 at a nearby Chevron. When I arrived at the Chevron I learned that the gas price was actually $3.29.
Nearly a $.60 difference. I have lost trust in this app.
